Obituary for Wanda Rosebrough (Hawley)

Wanda Hawley Rosebrough was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on February 19, 2018, at the age of 96.

Graveside services for Mrs. Rosebrough will be Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
She was born on February 8, 1922, the second child of Hez and Alrie (Yates) Hawley. Wanda grew up in Sweetwater, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Charles Asher Rosebrough. They married in 1943, and resided in Lubbock, Texas for their entire married life.
Wanda was exuberant and full of life. She enjoyed sports, mainly golf, tennis, and fishing. She was very happy working in the yard, mowing with a push-style mower for years. Wanda was at her best in the kitchen, joyfully making treats and meals for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved as she lived - with gusto, lavishing affection on all her family in so many ways.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Hez Hawley and Bernie Hawley, and her sister Dawn Kennedy.
Survivors include: son Chuck Rosebrough and wife Nancy, daughter Gail Syrus, and husband Larry; grandchildren Gray Chilcoat (Jill), Cade Chilcoat (Sarah), Ryan Chilcoat, Jane Gilcrease (Luke) Mary Wright (John) and Asher Rosebrough (Alissa), and 11 great-grandchildren.
