The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Hollis Chandler can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

"My other dad"

"Dad", Hollis came into my life during my teen years through my God given sister, Darla Kay.  Darla Kay and I were instantly the best of friends when we met at Holly Drive Baptist Church in Richardson.  We became sisters at heart and always thought that God made us sisters but just failed to give us the same parents!

Hollis and Darlene (Dad and Mom) took me and my brother into their lives and loved on us as if we were one of their own.  Darla Kay even asked mom and dad if they would adopt us.

On mine and Darla's 16th birthday, dad drove us along with our closest friends to Thunderbird Roller Rink in a church bus and in the snow.  I think that was my most memorable birthday ever.  Now that I am older I can appreciate the sacrifice that it was on his part!

Dad always had a smile to show, a hug to give and a joke to make you laugh.  I will always remember him wearing jeans, boots and a hat.  I can't hear a Merle Haggard song without thinking of him.

If only there were more men like Hollis Chandler around.  He was a godly man that put his family first.  You will never find a man that love his wife more than Hollis loved Darlene and loved his children and grandchildren more than life itself.

If there is anything that I am confident about it is the fact that I will see again in heaven.  Until then, thank you for giving me many wonderful memories, for my blessed sister and for being you.

I love you dad.

Your "other daughter",

Jackie
