Obituary for Donna Jean Pruitt

Donna Jean  Pruitt
Donna Jean Pruitt, age 71, of Snyder, passed away December 19, 2017.

Services for Ms. Pruitt will be Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 10:00 am at The Word Is Life Deliverance Church with Pastor Tony Wofford and Minister Nathalie Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

Ms. Pruitt was born May 22, 1946 in Pueblo, Colorado to George and Martha (Kent) Pruitt. Donna attended Draughon's Business College and spent most of her career as an executive secretary. She retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Board of Pardons and Paroles in 2012.
Donna was a wonderful, complex person. She loved her family more than anyone knew. Although she had no children of her own, she loved and enjoyed her nieces and nephews Scott Groat, Marti Baze, Kent Groat (deceased), Sarah Brown Inman, Roy Mose Brown, and Micah Brown Bluto so much. She was so proud of each of them. Later, she was equally proud of her great and great-great nieces and nephews. Her father had a stroke in 2008, she selflessly moved into her sister's house to help care for him. She stayed with her sister after his death, helping to care for her Mother, Martha Kent Pruitt. She had an older sister, Janette. Janette was born in May of 1945, and Donna was born in May of 1946. They were 1 year apart, growing up together, so close, they were almost like twins. Janette died in 1979, at the age of 33.
Donna called Mike Brown her favorite (only LOL) brother-in-law, and they LOVED to pick on each other. Donna lived for 25 years in California, and had many interesting experiences there. She worked several years at the corporate office of Volkswagen, then worked as a personal secretary to the actor David Carradine and knew William Shatner and other celebrities personally. After her return to Texas, she renewed her relationship with our Savior and loved Jesus and her W.I.L.D. Church family very much. She loved to travel and to read and was rarely seen without her Kindle. She also loved animals, from exotics to dogs and cats. Most of all, she loved her family.

She is survived by;
Her Mother, Martha Pruitt of Snyder, TX
Brother, Harold and wife Kathy Pruitt of Runaway Bay, TX
Sister, George Anne Brown and husband Mike of Snyder, TX
3 Nieces
Marti Baze and husband Ward, of Snyder, TX

Micah Bluto and husband Chris, of Las Vegas, NV

and many Great and Great-great nieces and nephews
