Obituary for Joy Dockrey (Ward)

Mrs. Joy Dockrey, age 81, of Colorado City, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017.

A memorial service for Mrs. Dockrey will be held on, December 9th, at 11:00 am, All Saints Episcopal Church, 304 Locust Street, Colorado City, TX 79512. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dockrey was born October 1, 1936 in Paris, TX to Hosie and Mary (Dollar) Ward. She married Kenneth Dockrey on January 31, 1960 in Colorado City, TX. She worked for Pick-N-Pay and Safeway for many years. She also owned and managed the Quail Run Apartments. Mrs. Dockrey has been a long time member of the All Saints Episcopal Church.

She is survived by

Allan Dockrey and wife Cherie of Colorado City
Kelley Dockrey of Los Angeles, CA
1) Daughter
Linda Sue Dockrey and Feven Libanos of Austin
1) Sister
Mellie Jane McCarty, formerly of Ira
1) Granddaughter
Jaymi Wetzel and husband Marcus of Denton
numerous nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth in 2013, 1) Brother, Sheldon Ward, 3) Sisters, Lilie Ruth Franks, Maybel Barton and Marie Dobbs. 1) Grandson, Colby Dockrey

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations and memorials be made to All Saints Episcopal Church of Colorado City, Texas (304 Locust Street, Colorado City, TX 79512) or a charity of your choice.
