Joseph B. Kelley “Joe” entered the Gates of Heaven on May 1, 2017 and was met with a resounding voice saying “Welcome, well done good and faithful Son.”

The memorial celebration of Joe’s life and home going will be held at Word is Life Deliverance Church on Friday, May 6 at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Joe was and is a mighty man of God and he has left behind a couple of legacies. His most precious legacy is his family. Joe and Nathalie entered into a lifelong love story that God Himself authored, just for them, many years ago. Their love story is filled with many chapters: some exciting chapters, some heartbreaking chapters, some chapters filled with excitement, and lots and lots of love and funny chapters. This love story produced some wonderful characters: Erick Lewis, Joshua, Stephen and little Nichole Raye (Twinkle) Kelley. Other characters included in their life story are Nikki and Shawna. He loved and adored his grandchildren Jack, Caleb, Ean, Bryan and Aly. He had many nephews and two favorite nieces. Joe’s parents, Stephen and Priscilla Raye Kelley, preceded him in death. Joe’s siblings are brother Jim Kelley and wife Scharles, his sister Rhonda and her husband Mitch Seymour.
Joe was a man of God that was unashamed of his love for Jesus. Joe was a large man, at 6’9” who worked hard all of his life. He worked as an offshore oilman, business man with his wife, and a correctional officer at the Price Daniel Unit. Joe was also an ordained minister of the gospel. He served on many teams for the Walk to Emmaus and Mesquite Country Closer Walk. He and his wife, Nathalie served the Lord in many different capacities of ministry over the years. He was always authentic and genuinely himself, with a fun sense of humor. He was fun and loving but directly honest. Joe was an intellectual with a West Texas drawl. He was a bit of a history buff with an accompanying literary wit and he loved to read any and everything. He was interested in life. He was also one who loved to discuss the Word. He loved people and loved hearing their stories.
He said if God healed him he would win and if he went to Heaven he would win. For him it was a “win-win” situation. He fought the good fight of faith and WON the race. Joe Kelley pressed toward the goal to win the prize for which God had called him heavenward in Christ Jesus.
